Principal's Messages

Dear St. Jean Brebeuf Parents/Guardians and Students,

The entire staff of St. Jean Brebeuf (SJB) welcomes you to an exciting 2021-2022 school year.  We are so blessed to have started this school year under the adapted scenario 1. We look forward to re-connecting with each child and to help support their unique learning needs as we journey together Living and Learning in our Catholic Faith.  As a community we will work together to support everyone on their journey of learning as well as each for other’s safety.

If you are new to SJB, we extend a warm welcome to our school community and best wishes for a productive and successful school year. You will soon feel the amazing culture that is fostered and nurtured within our ideals of “Believe, Belong, Become”. For those families who are returning, we look forward to another year of academic success and supporting your child(ren). We continue to advocate and nurture the relationships needed for a shared responsibility to develop the students in our care.

The goal of our SJB staff is to empower students to reach their full potential, to become positive and productive role models, to meet the challenges of life, to learn to make good decisions, and to serve their community and journey in faith with God. Our District three-year Faith theme is “Faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love” (1 Corinthians 13:13). Each year, part of this verse will be the focus of our study and reflection. This year our focus will be on “Hope”. This is fitting in that we all need to have faith and believe that with God’s help we can get through these unprecedent times.  It is now more than ever that we must BELIEVE, BELONG and BECOME as both individuals and as the St. Jean Brebeuf community.  Each day we are committed to be advocates for Catholic Education and to bring your child(ren) a great learning experience.  We encourage you to actively join things like our school council and our Education society.  Both of these organizations also help to enhance the school and the experiences that we can offer our students.

Mrs. Altrogge and I are very excited to be a part of this great school community and we look forward to a great school year together.

With gratitude,

David Gowans
